Whew! we finished the small garden for the most part today and got the big garden done except for the sweet potatoes that have not arrived yet.
In the small garden we got another 3/4 of a row of green beans in, the cutting flowers, 3 kinds of squash, 20 more tomatoes and a few celery plants we had started. For the most part it is done. There are a few more tomatoes to go in along with some short rows of carrots, radishes and such.
Now I know this doesn't look like much 😀 but I promise in a few weeks it will be quite impressive! This is the big garden. In it we planted 16 rows of sweet corn. We also planted 1 row each of green beans and cranberry beans, 2 rows of black eyes and a row of peanuts. There is one row with hills of cantaloupe, watermelon and pumpkins. The final row will be sweet potatoes.
Lastly we planted 4 rows of dent corn to harvest this fall for cornmeal and grits over at sis's house. Now all we need is a good steady rain. Life is good... on the homestead!
